Washing My Face After Rhinoplasty
The question is, when can I wash my face and have a shower after rhinoplasty? I think the main issue really is trying to keep the cast and tapes in place. And so I ask patients not to get water directly on the nose for about a week. That doesn't mean you can't take a shower, I think you could take a cool shower and wash. But I wouldn't want patients having water going directly down onto their head and onto their nose. You can certainly ask someone to wash your hair for you, or assist you in a sink, and I think that is what most people will do for the first week.
