About Closed Rhinoplasty
Video transcript: With a closed approach the incisions that are used to gain access to the nasal cartilages and bridge of the nose are made just inside the rim of the nose. This allows for elevation of the skin and visualization of the features that need to be modified.
Good candidates for a closed approach are patients that only require modification of the nasal bridge; so either taking a hump down or narrowing the nasal bridge. If a person needs significant modification to the nasal tip, often an open approach is more appropriate.
