Can I Blow My Nose After Rhinoplasty
The question is, can I blow my nose after my rhinoplasty? The answer to that question is that you should really avoid blowing your nose for about a week. You can certainly put a mist or a salt spray or water in there to help clear your nose, and we often recommend that patients put some Polysporin into the nostrils to help soften some of the blood clots. There's no question that you will have a little bit of obstruction breathing out of your nose for the first week, but just be patient, once the cast is off and once a little bit of time has gone by, you will easily get any blood clots or mucus from the nose by gently washing with salt water and gently blowing your nose after the first week.
