We've discussed the Contour TRL procedure with our team of skin-care specialists at 8 West Cosmetic Surgery, and here's what you need to know:
Contour TRL Laser Resurfacing
Contour TRL is full-field laser skin resurfacing that provides more significant results than most laser skin treatments, with slightly longer downtime. Unlike fractionated skin resurfacing, full-field resurfacing means the entire surface of the skin is ablated. Otherwise known as deep resurfacing, Contour TRL involves taking the top layer of the skin off to remove deep lines and deep wrinkles and bring younger, healthier-looking skin to the surface.

The erbium laser used in the procedure allows for the ability to vaporize tissue with very little thermal conduction, which makes Contour TRL more comfortable than other laser treatments.
Who is a Candidate for Contour TRL?
You may be a candidate for Contour TRL if you experience deep wrinkling or skin laxity, particularly in common aging areas around the lower eyelids and mouth. While these areas are the most commonly targeted, whole face resurfacing is quite common, as well.
Not only does Contour TRL take away years by removing wrinkles on the outside of the skin, it also stimulates the growth of collagen on the inside, keeping you looking younger for longer. An increase in collagen also results in firmer, tighter skin and better skin texture.
You may be a candidate for the Contour TRL if you experience:
- Mild to deep wrinkles
- Persistent peri-oral (around the mouth) and peri-orbital (around the eyes) deep rhytides (wrinkles)
- Acne scars, post-traumatic scars and surgical scars
- Actinic keratoses (lesions caused by damage from the sun's UV rays)
- Pigmented lesions
- Lax skin in all areas
- Poor skin tone or texture
What is the Downtime for Contour TRL?
You get to choose! Because Contour TRL allows for precise application of each treatment, we can dial in the exact tissue effect needed for your specific pathology, desired outcome and tolerance for downtime.
